Congratulations to this year’s Service Excellence Award winners

One of the long-standing traditions of our university is to publicly acknowledge the staff that has contributed to our success. Each spring we hold the Service Excellence Dinner at which staff members who are celebrating a number of years of service to DeSales University are recognized. It is also an opportunity for us to thank them for sharing their gifts with our community. We also invite newly hired employees and their guests to attend the dinner in an effort to welcome them to DeSales.

One of the highlights of the evening is the presentation to select members of our family who have distinguished themselves through service to the university. The President’s Cabinet has selected Amy Diehl as the 2011 Support Staff Employee of the Year and Kate Ferris as the 2011 Professional Staff Employee of the Year. I ask that you extend congratulations to Amy and Kate for earning these distinctions and thank them for the valuable contributions they have made to the university over the years.

LVAIC progress report

Dear Members of the DeSales University Community:

This is the age of collaboration. Just yesterday, DeSales University and Lehigh County announced a collaborative venture to create the first county-wide digital forensics lab in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Don Cunningham, the Lehigh County Chief Executive and Jim Martin, Lehigh County District Attorney, were on our campus for the press conference announcing the opening of the David Petzold Forensics Laboratory. LVAIC, however, is one of our longest lasting and most successful collaborative efforts. I would like to share with you a progress report on our recent planning initiative at LVAIC. If you have any comments or suggestions, please share them with me or with Bob Snyder, our representative to this planning effort. Thanks.

Fr. Bernie O’Connor, OSFS, President – DeSales University.

A special thank you for your help with Bulldog Bash 2011

On behalf of the entire enrollment management staff, I wanted to personally thank you for attending this year’s Bulldog Bash. It was great day for everyone involved. We would like to thank you for your devotion to all the accepted students who attended. The day would not have been a success without all of your hard work. The faculty, staff, clubs, DAWGS, and performers in attendance really made the day. I would also like to especially thank everyone in facilities, auxiliary services, and dinning services for their tremendous help on this day and always. I am certain that the accepted students will remember the time you have invested, the fun they had, and connections made with other students when they are making their final college decisions.

The Bulldog Bash is our biggest yielding event of the year. We had a record setting day with 330 students in attendance totaling approximately 1100 people. Thank you for your support. You are truly the best of the best!

We thank you again for your continued support and dedication in assisting the enrollment management staff in reaching our recruitment goals.
