Ethics breakfast: Trustworthiness: the Ethics of Good Business Relations, 6/9

The Forum for Ethics in the Workplace will host an ethics breakfast at 7 a.m., Thursday, June 9, in the University Center on the DeSales campus in Center Valley.

The event is titled, Trustworthiness: the Ethics of Good Business Relations and will feature R. Scott Smith, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Fulton Financial Corporation and Gerald A. Nau, chief executive officer and president of Lafayette Ambassador Bank. In 2010 Forbes.com named Fulton Financial Corporation one of the 100 most trustworthy companies.

Elevator shut downs today, 5/25

Today, Wednesday May 25, 2011, the Department of Labor and Industry and Reading Elevator will be doing elevator hydraulic testing in Trexler Library, Billera, Dooling & Welsh Halls.   They will begin at 9:00 a.m. in Dooling Hall then proceed to Billera Hall, then to Trexler Library finishing at Welsh Hall.  These tests will take approximately 2 hours per elevator.  The elevators will be out of service in these buildings during the test.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Tornado warnings and watches

Nasty weather moved through Lehigh Valley on Monday evening. Funnel clouds were reported north of Allentown and a tornado warning was sent by the National Weather Service indicating a track toward Nazareth, PA. The warning was passed on to the campus community via e2Campus at about 7:15 and ended at approximately 8:30 p.m. While some damage was reported in the Valley, the University was not affected.
