In order to serve you and our off campus users more efficiently, Trexler will be switching to a new vendor to host our off campus authentication to our licensed resources. This means that our off campus URLs will change. Therefore, if you have links to any of our licensed resources, such as Films on Demand, other databases, or links to articles from our databases in your ANGEL course or online syllabi, those links will need to be changed.
This will most likely happen the first week in January.
If you have these types of links in your ANGEL course please forward your ANGEL course information to me and I will change the links for you.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work to make access easier for everyone.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
I am pleased to announce that I have accepted the recommendation of the Rome Program Faculty Committee, comprised of professors Robert Blumenstein, Brian Kane, and Elizabeth Rosa, that Ms. Juilene Osborne-McKnight be appointed the director of the DeSales University Rome Program for the fall 2013 semester. As previously announced, Dr. Galina Yermolenko will direct the program during the fall 2012 semester.
Due to the good work of Professors Kane and Rosa, DeSales University established its own free-standing Rome program, based at the Dante Alighieri Italian Language Center. We send fifteen students from various majors to Rome for each fall semester. Our faculty director is provided with housing and travel expenses and teaches three courses while in Rome.
To date, the faculty members who have served as directors of the DeSales University Rome Program are Drs. Chapp, Howsare, Kerr, Myers, and Loughlin, each of whom have had very successful experiences while in Rome and who have served as “ambassadors” for the program since their return.
My thanks to all these faculty members for making the DeSales University Rome Program a worthwhile academic experience and life experience for our students.
