Please join us on Friday, June 22 at the Veledrome as we honor the late Michael Walter during the Annual Michael Walter 100 Lap Madison Race.

Michael excelled in the sport of bike racing but in 1978, he was struck by a car while on a training ride and lived as a quadriplegic until his death in 2009. He was a graduate of DeSales in the Class of 1993 with a degree in psychology and was a peer counselor at Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living. After the accident, Mike was still active in the cycling world and attended regular Friday night races. He was a true racing fan and the Madison was his favorite style race.

The evening’s racing begins at 7:30, gates open at 5:30 and the Michael Walter 100 Lap Madison is the last race of the evening.

To reserve your free admission to the Veledrome for June 22, please email Adam Tucker at adam.tucker@desales.edu. Please let us know how many admissions you wish to reserve. Upon arriving at the Veledrome, you will go to the box office and will receive a wristband which will serve as your entry at the gate and will also give you access to the VIP Tent, the covered canopy/tent area exclusively set aside for DSU alums.
