Public Chemistry Demonstrations Evening Show

INVITED:  General Public, all full & part time faculty, staff, and students

WHEN: Wednesday, March 13, 2013

The Natural Science Department Chemistry faculty & students will present the 12th Annual Chemistry Demonstrations Evening Program onon March 13 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The program will be held in the Hurd Science Center Auditorium. The program has received rave reviews and seats are first come first served. This event is open to the DeSales community and the general public free of charge. Seat reservations are suggested, but not necessary.

The colorful and explosive presentations are designed to be visually interesting and exciting, as well as illustrative of important but easily understood chemical concepts. Our faculty and students take great pride in this event and are always excited to see a full house!

Our daytime performances run Tues. and Thurs. from March 12 through April 4 from 12:15 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.

Parents, please feel free to bring your children. Many faculty members have done that at our past presentations and it was enjoyed by all.

We’re looking forward to seeing you at one of our presentations.

The DSU Yearbook Club is hosting a Sandy Hook Promise bracelet sale in the DUC through March 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost of the bracelets are $1.50. All proceeds from the sale will go to is an organization begun by the parents and community of Sandy Hook, CT, to honor those they lost and to launch a nationwide cycle of education and cultural change so that no more lives will be lost due to senseless violence.

Please help us with our goal of selling all of our bracelets for this worthy cause.

University Parking Lot Closures During Spring Break

DeSales University is hosting a number of large events in the DeSales University Center during the week of March 3, 2013.  These events will lead to a great deal of congestion in the UC parking lot on Monday (4/4), Thursday (4/7), and Friday (4/8).

University faculty, staff, and students should plan to park in the Billera, Trexler, or Labuda lots on these days.

DeSales University Job Fair

On Wednesday, March 6, 2013 DeSales University’s Office of Human Resources will conduct a Job Fair from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Commonwealth Room of the University Center on the DeSales University Center Valley campus.

The particular staffing needs we intend to address at the Job Fair are:

  • Custodian – We have 4 immediate openings.  These are full time positions in our Facilities department, scheduled to work 40 hrs./week. We have needs to fill on all shifts.
  • Administrative Support Staff – We have 4 openings to be filled by 4/1/2013. These are full time positions in various departments; 3 positions are at our Center Valley campus and 1 at our Lansdale, PA campus.
  • Campus Services Specialist – A full time, exempt position responsible for both the daily and strategic operations of the university card, vending, laundry, copying, and public printing programs. Will also assist in events scheduling and coordination.

Employees who know individuals who may be interested and qualified for any of the above mentioned positions should encourage them to attend one of the information sessions to be held on March 6, 2013 at the following times:  1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.  Additional information regarding these openings will be discussed during these sessions.
