As part of the Year of Faith campaign, the Salesian Center for Faith and Culture is hosting a symposium on faith & relationships with special guest Erika Bachiochi, J.D., nationally syndicated author and speaker; moderated by Anne Lewis, professor of theatre at DeSales University. This town hall discussion will take place at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the University CenterThis event, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Diocese of Allentown. No tickets are required.

There will be a faculty meeting prior to the event in the Pricilla Payne Hurd Science Center from 3:30 -4:30 p.m.

DeSales University Police & Public Safety hire a new full time police officer

DeSales University Police & Public Safety hire a new full time police officer Alex M. Smith has joined the ranks of the DeSales University Police Department. Alex is from Easton, Pa. and graduated from Wilson High in 2009. He recently graduated from the Allentown Police Academy in December of 2012. Alex will be patrolling our campus after he completes his training period and will be working our night shift. Please extend a warm welcome to our newest officer when you see him!

Mid-term grade memo

Mid-term grades for the Spring 2013 Day Semester are due via MyDSU-WebAdvisor no later than Thursday, February 28, 2013 by noon.

In order to enter your grades:

  • Login to MyDSU-WebAdvisor.  Contact the Help Desk at x 4357(HELP) with any login, password or technical issues. Call the Registrar’s Office with any other questions.
  • Under “Faculty Information”, select “Grading”.
  • Select Term for grading:  Spring 2013.
  • Select Grading period: Mid-Term.
  • Enter grades. To familiarize yourself with our grading system, please

refer to page 16 of the 2012 DeSales University  Undergraduate Catalog available

at www.desales.edu. If you have a large class, you may find it helpful to submit grades for half the students, then return to your roster and complete grading the remaining students.

  • Enter the number of absences. You must enter absences for all freshmen and students on academic probation.  
  • All students MUST be given a grade.
  • You may not issue a grade of “W”.  If you wish to issue a grade of WP or WF to a student who has officially withdrawn, please contact our office.
  • Click “submit” to finalize your grades.
  • You will immediately receive a grading confirmation notice.

Sandy Hook Promise Fundraiser

Hosted by the DSU Yearbook Club

The DSU Yearbook Club is hosting a Sandy Hook Promise bracelet sale in the DUC through March 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost of the bracelets are $1.50. All proceeds from the sale will go to www.sandyhookpromise.org.

Sandyhookpromise.org is an organization begun by the parents and community of Sandy Hook, CT, to honor those they lost and to launch a nationwide cycle of education and cultural change so that no more lives will be lost due to senseless violence.

Please help us with our goal of selling all of our bracelets for this worthy cause.
