President’s Medal and Provincial Medal Awards for the 2013 Graduating Class

We are requesting your assistance in selecting recipients for the President’s Medal and Provincial Medal Awards for 2013.   A description of each medal is stated below. The votes will be tallied and the President’s Cabinet will make the final selection.  You may choose a male or female candidate for either award.

Please record your ballot online at no later than Friday, April 19.  Do not return paper ballots.  Thank you for your cooperation.

The citation for the Provincial Medal reads as follows:  “The Provincial Medal of Honor is presented annually by the Provincial of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales to a graduate of each Oblate school who best exemplifies the spirit of St. Francis de Sales.  Eminent scholar, zealous apostle, true gentleman, St. Francis de Sales blended perfectly love of knowledge with love of God.  The Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, who exist to spread that spirit, pray that the recipient of this award will continue to grow in his likeness.”

The recipient of the President’s Medal, according to the citation, should have “attained intellectual maturity consistent with his or her talents; demonstrated a manner of living guided by the principles of Catholic teaching; and exhibited, through service to the DeSales University community, loyalty and devotion to the University and the principles upon which its philosophy is based.”
