Orientation Help

Attention all Faculty and Staff!

Fall Orientation is fast approaching and one of the best things about this event is the unity that the entire DeSales community shows to the new freshman class.  The positive feedback from students and their families about the students and staff that participate is tremendous.

Once again this year the Fall Orientation planning group would like to invite all DeSales faculty and staff to help with the move in process on Sunday, August 24th from 8:00am – 12:30pm.  You can sign up by emailing Nick Luchko at Nicholas.luchko@desales.edu.  Please include the following:

Your Name
Your Department
Your Email
Your T-Shirt Size
Any limitations of activity? If yes, please explain.

Those who are unable to carry objects or have limited mobility, we will have other jobs such as handing out water or directing families during move in.  There is a job for everyone who wants to be involved.  You will get an official Fall Orientation t-shirt, breakfast, and lunch for helping.

Those who are interested should let us know by Friday, July 25, 2014.

New Help Desk Offerings

As part of DeSales ongoing continual process improvement plan, on July 8, 2014 we will be changing our help desk provider in an effort to improve services. The new help desk will be available 24X7, 365 days.  The help desk will support the full coverage of  Classrooms, IT, Learning Management Systems (Blackboard), Telecomm, and any other technology issues for DeSales University.   You can find a full description of services available by signing into my MyDSU and click on the help desk tab in the upper left top toolbar.

You will also notice a difference in the ticketing system as we will be moving to Salesforce.com as the ticketing system.  This will allow for better communication to you, our customers, to let you know the status of tickets, get updates on issues, and to submit customer satisfaction surveys to allow us to continue to improve your experience.

The help desk can still be reached by dialing x4357 (HELP), e-mail helpdesk@desales.edu and a new function of on-line chat with immediate access to a Help Desk technician.    All of these contacts and links can be found on the MyDSU Help Desk page.

We hope these improvements will provide a more efficient way of helping all DeSales users with any issues.
