Walk A Mile, 9/25

Walk A Mile, an annual event that strives to improve gender relationships by providing men and women with a better understanding of women’s experiences with sexual assault, takes place on Thursday, September 25 at 5:00 p.m. in the Commonwealth room in the University Center. The event costs $5 per person and registration begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Commonwealth room. Participants will receive a free t-shirt.

Walk A Mile asks men and women to literally walk one mile in women’s heels. The event begins with a short program, entitled “If These Walls Could Talk.” The program will demonstrate how individuals keep their struggles with abuse to themselves without telling others, thinking that there is no way for them to get help.  Representatives from Turning Point, SAFE Nurses, and Crime Victims Council will speak about what they do and the services that they offer. After the presentation there will be a short prayer before the walk begins.

Blackboard Theme Makeover

The overall color scheme and banner for Blackboard is getting a makeover! To better brand our Blackboard environment and give our learning management system a more DeSales-spirited theme, DEIT has created an updated banner that uses the DeSales logo with official DeSales red. The modules have also been changed to official DeSales blue. Take a sneak peek at the new theme below:

This updated theme will be applied to all DeSales Blackboard users’ accounts on the morning of Monday, September 29. Please note that these changes will only affect the top Blackboard banner and module colors (no course structures or personal course banners will be affected by this change).

Flu Vaccines

Secondary to budget changes in the state of Pennsylvania, St. Luke’s Mobile Clinic will no longer be able to provide flu vaccines on our campus.

Flu vaccines are offered in the community at many drug stores/pharmacies. In addition Lehigh Valley Hospital offers large flu clinics free of charge.
