Help Desk Fact: Securing Your Mobile Device

Securing Your Mobile Device

Step One: Set a Passcode

For iOS devices, go to the Settings App and choose General … Passcode Lock. It is preferable to set a complex passcode (6 digits numeric or a password), and avoid using your birthdate, anniversary, or name equivalent, since those are easy to guess.

For Android devices, you can set a PIN, password, or swipe pattern. In settings, choose Security and then Change Unlock Pattern.

On Windows Phone 7, choose Settings from your application list, and then press Lock & Wallpaper. There you turn on the Password option.
