DeSales Degrees to Be Offered in Tanzania

Philosophy graduates, you’re about to have Tanzanian company.

Starting this June, DeSales University will offer accredited B.A. degrees in philosophy at Lumen Christi Institute, a higher education seminary in Arusha, Tanzania. The agreement was signed in March by Rev. Bernard O’Connor, OSFS, president of DeSales University, and Rev. Dr. Johnson Kallidukkil, MSFS, provincial of the East Africa Province and Delegate of the Superior General of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS) Congregation, on site at the African school.

Olympic Gold Medalist Carly Patterson, 4/1

April 1 at 3:00pm in the Commonwealth Room, Character U will host its final keynote, Carly Patterson.  Patterson is the 2004 Athens gold medal Olympic all-around champion and a member of the US gymnastics hall of fame.  This will be Carly’s second time visiting campus and speaking with students, and yes she will have her medals with her. Keynote will be open to all students, faculty, staff, and public.  I hope you can all make it to hear her speak.

Graduation Ushers Needed

Needed: A few good men and women to usher at Baccalaureate and Graduation

The Dean of Students office is looking for faculty, staff, and student volunteers to help usher at Baccalaureate Mass on Friday, May 15 and at Commencement on May 16. If you can offer your help at these very special events, you will not need a ticket.  Details regarding dress code and responsibilities will be emailed to you during the first week of May. Faculty who volunteer are not required to process or wear graduate attire. Thank you in advance for your help.

Honor a Loved One: Lumenarias on Sale Now

Please support Colleges Against Cancer by purchasing a lumenaria to honor a loved one who has survived, is now fighting, or has lost their battle to cancer. Lumenaria will be displayed during Relay for Life in honor of your loved one.  Sales will take place in the DUC during dinner hours until April 17 at the Colleges Against Cancer raffle ticket table.
