R.I.P. Filippo Colosi, father of Dr. Joseph Colosi

It is with great sadness but hope in the resurrection that we announce the death of Filippo Colosi, father of Dr. Joseph Colosi, Associate Professor of Biology in the Natural Sciences Department. 

Philip “Filippo” Colosi died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at his home in Piscataway, one day shy of his 96th birthday. Born in San Pier Niceto, Italy he lived in New Brunswick before moving to Piscataway in 1957. He worked tirelessly to support his family as owner of Colosi’s Nursery in Piscataway for most of his life. He also worked at Ford Motor Company in Edison for 26 years. Mr. Colosi was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church in Piscataway. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Dunellen. He was devoted to his wife of 63 years, Angelina Scibilia Colosi, who died in 2012.

Funeral services will be 9:15AM Monday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick followed by a 10:30AM Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 3PM to 7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Church Capital Improvement Fund, 50 Van Winkle Place, Piscataway, NJ 08854 or to a charity of ones choice.
