Earn Credit for Work Experience, 10/1

The ACCESS Program at DeSales is presenting a workshop on earning college credit through prior learning assessment.

Turn work experience, non-traditional training, community service, and personal development into college credit. This workshop will identify credit-earning methodologies falling under the comprehensive umbrella known as “prior-learning assessment.” It will end with a focused-look at portfolio assessment as an opportunity to earn college credit from prior learning activities.

The workshop is free, but registration is required. Bring a friend along!

Lynne Kvinnesland’s Farewell Reception, 10/21

Please join the library staff on October 21, 2015 from 3pm to 5:30pm in Trexler Library Lobby to wish Lynne Kvinnesland good luck as she moves to her new position as Information Literacy Librarian  at Colgate University in NY.

Lynne joined the library staff as our Evening Public Services Librarian in 2007 and has served the DeSales community with distinction. She is a superb teacher and researcher who specialized in providing information literacy services to ACCESS and graduate students. She will be greatly missed.

Zotero Workshops for Faculty and Graduate Students, 9/30

In this hands-on workshop, a Trexler librarian will introduce you to the main features of Zotero, a free online bibliographic management tool that allows you to save, organize, and cite sources for your research. You will learn how to set up a Zotero account, add resources to your Zotero “library” and create customized bibliographies in a citation style of your choice.
