Career Development Center Reminders

Marywood University MSW Program Information Session: March 2 at 4:00pm in the Career Development Center, Dooling 121.  RSVP through DSU CareerLINK by Monday February 29 (click on Events and then Workshops to RSVP)

Etiquette Dinner Registration: Etiquette Dinner Registration will go through March 4.  Please be sure to sign-up in the Career Center before you leave for spring break.  Cost is $5, which includes a 4 course fine dining experience and presentation on proper table manners and conversations.

Job Search Club: First meeting of six will begin on Monday March 14 at 5:00pm in the Career Center.  RSVP is through DSU CareerLINK (click on Events and then Workshops to RSVP).  First meeting will have FREE Pizza.  A great way for students to talk through their job search fears and set some concrete goals to move forward before graduation.

Career Ambassador Applications: Available on-line through the Career Development site.  Applications and letters of recommendation are due by March 21.

Alpha Phi Omega will be hosting its first recruitment at DeSales University. We will have four events that are either fellowship or service. In order to receive a bid, you must attend one information session and one of the other four events!

Tuesday- Friends Viewing Party and Dog Toy Making 8pm Heritage Room *Please bring old unwanted t-shirts to cut up to make the toys! We will also be accepting donations for the animal shelter!

Job Search Club: get help launching your post-DeSales career

The Career Development Center Job Search Club gives juniors and seniors advice on searching for jobs and internships. It also helps students create the documents they will need for the application process. The club meets once a week for six weeks-each week focuses on a different topic or resource, to be determined by attendees at the March 14 meeting (i.e. networking, using job posting boards, resumes, financial planning, salary negotiation, etc.)

Don’t let pre-graduation jitters get the best of you!  Melony Oestreich, a professional recruiter from MassMutual, will facilitate each meeting with the Career Development Center.
