Fiddler on the Roof Broadway Trip, 8/20

We have some seats open on our annual alumni bus trip to New York City and we wanted to open the trip up to faculty and staff. Our tickets for An American in Paris are sold out but there are still a few tickets left for Fiddler on the Roof and we hope you can join us! 

The trip is scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2016. We leave campus promptly at 9:00 a.m. We arrive in New York City a little before noon. There will be free time to shop or have lunch before the shows. The curtain rises at 2:00 p.m. Immediately after the shows conclude, we will depart and will arrive back at DeSales around 6:30 p.m.

Minuteman Campus Printery Closing for Remainder of Summer

The Minuteman Press’ on-campus location will be closed beginning Monday, July 18 until Monday, August 15.  Any print jobs previously submitted will be completed and delivered to your office.  Any new jobs can be submitted to the Bethlehem location via Brett Yarsevich at brett.yarsevich@minutemanpress.com.  Thanks for your understanding and we look forward to serving you again at our on-campus location in August.

Mailroom Repairs, 7/22

On Friday, July 22 the DeSales Mailroom in McShea will be having abatement work done and the clerks will not be able to work in the Mailroom.

Mail from the Post Office will be  sorted and delivered to your offices in the morning hours.  There will be no pick-up of mail from offices or delivery of packages for the day.  Regular service will resume on Monday, July 25.

Today: Annual Testing of Campus Fire Alarm Systems Begins 7/18

Simplex Grinnell, the University’s fire alarm system and suppression vendor will be on campus beginning Monday, July 18 to begin the annual testing of all campus fire alarm systems, as required by the National Fire Protection Association, and will remain on campus until all testing has been completed. This includes both the academic/administrative buildings as well as all residence halls. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and ask for your patience during the tests. A schedule of inspections is developed on a daily basis based on the scheduled activities in each building.

Orientation is fast approaching and one of the best things about this event is the unity that the entire DeSales community shows to the new freshman class.  The positive feedback from the new students and their families about the welcoming team is tremendous. It’s a wonderful way to meet the incoming class and share in their excitement as they begin their journey at DeSales. 

Once again this year the Orientation planning team would like to invite all DeSales University faculty and staff to help with the move in process on Sunday, August 21 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.  It’s a wonderful way to meet the incoming class and share in their excitement as they begin their journey at DeSales. 

Those who are unable to carry objects or have limited mobility, we will have other jobs such as handing out water or directing families during move in.  There is a job for everyone who wants to be involved!  You will get an official Orientation shirt, breakfast and lunch for helping.
