Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival is seeking five elementary aged children to play singing roles in Evita this summer at PSF. Rehearsals begin May 23, opening is June 14, closing is July 2. Rehearsals for child actors will be mostly nights and weekends though during the tech/opening week and on a few other occasions, they may need to miss some school. This is a fully professional production with Equity actors and a number of other early-career professional actors. These five roles will be cast with non-union local child actors. Actors cast in these five roles will each receive a single $100 honorarium, intended to help defray the parent’s/guardian’s transportation expense of the daily commute. (Reliable daily transportation is a necessity.) The real value is the experience of a lifetime and a professional credit for the resume. There will be 8 performances per week, Tuesday through Sunday nights, with matinees on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There may be some flexibility for conflicts with individual performance dates, but it is best to assume that the actor must be fully available for all rehearsals and performances.
If you are interested and haven’t done so already, please schedule an audition appointment by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Music to and full details can be found on our website, http://www.pashakespeare.org/psf_jobs.php.
