Monday, November 20, 2017
To all full-time students, full-time faculty, and full-time staff:

Thanksgiving is an important part of our nation’s religious tradition and a significant holiday for us. We have many reasons to be thankful.
I hope that each one of you spends time in the company of loved ones.

To get the Thanksgiving holiday off to a great start, you are invited to the
DeSales University Community Thanksgiving Dinner
on Monday, November 20 from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m.
in the University Center.

The Student Life office will provide music during dinner.

If you are not on the meal plan, but wish to attend, you must register at the link below by Tuesday, November 14. Please be prepared to show your DeSales identification at the door. Because of the tremendous turnout for this event, participation is limited to full-time students and employees. International and Award-Winning Dance Films to be Shown at DeSales’ Screendance Festival

The Division of Performing Arts is pleased to announce its 12th annual Screendance Festival on Saturday, November 18 (8:00 p.m.) and Sunday, November 19 (8:00 p.m.) in the Gambet Center on the DeSales University Center Valley campus.

The festival is a two-night event. It opens on Saturday, November 18 at 8 p.m. featuring a slate of international award-winning dance films selected in partnership with the Dance Films Association. The program for the November 18 screening will include Kate Duhamel film “Molat & Molat,” the story of Pascal Molat as told by Matisse Molat, age five. Created during Pascal Molat’s final year as a classical dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, this film incorporates his love for contemporary ballet and hip-hop. Peter Kyle’s “crowd SEEN” is a film poem using the roving camera-eye as another body in space, navigating a tiered urban environment where little seems fixed and where humans and the environment are in constant conversation. Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Announces 27th Season

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival’s 27th summer season will launch with the Tony Award-winning musical Ragtime and will feature three Shakespeare plays: the popular comedy Twelfth Night, the profound and lyrical history play King Richard II, and an actor-driven production of the spirited and bittersweet comedy All’s Well That Ends Well. As the Festival continues its ambitious progression through the canon, King Richard II will be the 30th of Shakespeare’s 38 plays PSF has produced. Rounding out the season will be the stage adaptation of the spectacular Shakespeare in Love, the most produced play in the nation this year following its run in London’s West End.

The season will run June 1 to August 5 at the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts on the bucolic Center Valley campus of DeSales University. [Read more…]
