October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Please join the PA Program students and faculty, in collaboration with the DSU Wellness Task Force, on Wednesday, October 18 at 12 p.m. in the Wood Room of the University Center. The students and faculty will be talking about breast cancer facts, screenings, treatment, and risk factors.

Do you know?

  •  About 1 in 8 U.S. women (12.5%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.
  • Besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American women. In 2017, it’s estimated that about 30% of newly diagnosed cancers in women will be breast cancers.
  • Men can get breast cancer too. It is about 100 times less common among men than among women, but it still happens.
