Support Pod 7’s Service Project: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

Character U’s Pod 7 will be representing DeSales this Saturday at the Lehigh Valley Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, happening at SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pa. from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. (with the walk beginning at 9 a.m.). Freshmen and their mentors will be assisting in registration and other administrative activities, as well as working at the children’s activities tent and cheering on participants! Pod 7 has also been collecting donations in the DUC during lunch hours, so stop by this Wednesday between 11-2 to learn more about the event or make your contribution. Making Strides is free to sign up for, using the link below; support a wonderful cause and show your DeSales pride in our community!

Wednesday, Oct. 25: Halloween Decorating: McShea 119A, anytime between 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., stop by to decorate McShea
Thursday, Oct. 26: Halloween Decorating: McShea, 119A, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 26: Trick-or-Treat @DSU, meet in McShea Commons and guide 200 children around campus from 3:00-5:30 p.m., and clean up 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 27: Make Mats for the Homeless, 3-5 p.m. in the McShea Commons
Friday, Oct. 27: McShea 119A, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., help clean up Halloween Party
Saturday, Oct. 28: Habitat for Humanity, 8:15 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (lunch provided) and must RSVP


DUC Lot Closing Tomorrow

DeSales is hosting a large event in the DUC on the morning of Wednesday, October 25, 2017. The parking lot will be closed at 6 a.m. and will remain so until 9 a.m. The lot will remain congested until 1 p.m. Overflow parking will be sent to the front lot of Billera Hall as needed.

More than 200 attendees are registered.


Nicaragua and South Africa Global Service Application Available on ENGAGE!

Interested in going to Nicaragua over Spring Break or South Africa from May 20 – June 6? Students may apply for the trips on ENGAGE by November 17.

Directions: Log on to MyDSU, Click on ENGAGE (should be on the right side of the screen)
Click on Organizations, Find Center for Service and Social Justice (join the org)
Scroll down the CSSJ page and under Forms is the Global Service Trips 2018 application.

Tomorrow: Agape Latte Featuring Bishop Alfred Schlert

Agape Latte is an on campus coffee-house inspired speaker series, where the focus is on stories of self-sacrificial, all encompassing love. Cathy Ritter (musical theatre major) will be the live entertainment at 7:30 p.m., and Bishop Alfred Schlert will deliver his presentation: “Feed My Sheep – Loving your Vocational Call” around 8 p.m.

There will be free coffee, dessert, Fair Trade chocolate, and a t-shirt raffle.

Freshmen will receive both an Academic and St. Francis de Sales Point for attending this event.
