Mr. Ron Nordone Appointed Dean of Graduate Education

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Jerry Joyce, Interim President of DeSales University, has accepted the unanimous recommendation of the Search Committee to appoint Mr. Ron Nordone to the position of Dean of Graduate Education, effective December 4, 2017. The Search Committee consisted of Dr. Kay Malek and Mr. Peter Rautzhan, Co-Chairs, Dr. Robert Blumenstein, Dr. David Gilfoil, Dr. Eric Hagan, and Mr. Tom McNamara.

Most recently, Mr. Nordone served as Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs in the College of Business at Drexel University. Previously he served in other positions in Drexel’s College of Business’ Office of Enrollment Management, such as Assistant Vice President for Recruitment, Assistant Dean, Director of Graduate Admission, and Director of Enrollment for Undergraduate and Graduate Health Science Programs. Mr. Nordone earned a B.A. in Psychology at LaSalle University and an MBA at Eastern College. His home is in Devon, PA.

An Advent prayer service that includes chant, scripture, candle lighting, and silence.
This event is free and open to the public.

University Holiday Spending Policies

This message serves as a reminder of the University’s Business and Travel Expense Policy:

The President’s Office annually budgets for the Christmas party, the DSU BBQ, and the Service Excellence Dinner. Personal expenses incurred for specific academic department recognition programs are not reimbursable unless prior approval has been granted by the Treasurer’s Office.

The following items are considered personal in nature and should not be paid with University funds:

  • Gifts related to birthdays, births, weddings, promotions, congratulations, etc.
  • Holiday luncheons, party trays, gifts, floral arrangements (non-sympathy), decorations, etc.
  • Gifts and gift cards for co-workers, student workers, interns or other departments

Use of budget funds for the printing of Holiday cards to send to other University departments is not permitted; the President’s Office sends the official Holiday cards of the University.

Mass Time and Location Change on 12/3

Due to the Gaudeamus Concert, Mass will be held on Sunday, December 3 at NOON in Wills Hall Chapel.

(The final Mass of the Fall Semester is on Sunday, December 10 at 8 p.m. in Connelly Chapel)
