Students: Important Thanksgiving Break Reminders

Hello Students,

I have a couple of important things to tell you about. The first is a reminder that Thanksgiving Break is almost upon us! On Tuesday, November 21 at 6 p.m., all residence halls will shut down for the break and will not reopen until 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 26. Please be advised that there are VERY LIMITED services available for traditional undergraduate day students during this time. As such, residents are required to vacate their residence halls.

The only exceptions that may be made are for those students required to stay by faculty/staff members that must be here for University sanctioned events and/or full time/day undergraduate academic responsibilities or for students who live more than 300 miles from campus. The Career Development Center is excited to offer you a variety of innovative, fun, and educational programs this November. Favorites like Pancakes and Handshakes and Inquire by the Fire will be returning, along with new additions of Meaningful Mingling and a Scavenger Hunt – with the possibility to win a pair of Snap Spectacles! Take a look at our November Calendar, full of our career development week programs! And as always, our team is happy to meet with all students through appointments and our drop-in advising hours (M/W/F 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. & T/R 10 a.m. – 12 noon & 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.).

The Emergency Services Department will be holding CPR and AED training classes for interested faculty, staff, and students on the following dates and times during the fall semester:

  • November 10, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., McShea Kender Conference Room
  • December 8, 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., McShea Kender Conference Room

These classes are provided at no charge to all faculty, staff, and students.

Don’t be kept out of the loop: Sign up for e2Campus today!

The most important way to get emergency messages is e2Campus! All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to enroll in the e2Campus system. You will need your email address, cell phone number, and the name of your cell phone carrier. When signing up for this system, you have the option to register up to two cell phone numbers as well as two e-mail addresses.

DUC Lot Closing Tomorrow

DeSales is hosting a large event in the DUC in both the morning and evening of Thursday, November 2, 2017. The DUC parking lot will be closed for the entire day. Overflow parking will be sent to the front lot of Billera Hall as needed.

More than 300 attendees are registered for both events.
