MSCHE Evaluation Team Open Meetings

As part of the MSCHE Evaluation Team visit scheduled for DeSales University from March 18-21, there will be a series of “open meetings” between the Team and various constituents of the University. These “open meetings” provide one more opportunity for the DeSales community to actively contribute to the completion of the University’s re-accreditation process.

During the visit, the Evaluation Team wants to speak with as many University constituents as possible and they want to hear your voices as they complete their work. The “open meetings” provide one avenue towards that end. The meetings are as follows:

  • Professional & support staff on Monday, March 19 from 3:45-4:45 p.m., Commonwealth Room, DUC
  • Students (traditional undergraduate, ACCESS, & graduate) on Monday, March 19 from 5:00-5:45 p.m., Commonwealth Room, DUC
  • Faculty (full-time and part-time) on Tuesday, March 20 from 3:45-4:45 p.m., Commonwealth Room, DUC
As you prepare for the “open meeting,” consider reviewing relevant areas in the University’s completed Self-Study. Members of the DeSales community may find the Self-Study on the MyDSU portal under “Forms and Documents” or by clicking here.

Since the re-accreditation process began in the late Fall of 2015, the professional & support staff, students, and faculty have been committed to making this process a successful one for the University. We thank you for seriously considering attending and participating in one of these “open meetings.”

Refreshments will be provided.

Together We Can Beat the Flu

As the number of flu cases reported by healthcare professionals in Pennsylvania continues to rise, the Emergency Services Department offers the following tips to keep you and your family safe during this flu season:

  • The best way to prevent or lessen the severity of the flu is to get a flu shot
  • FREQUENTLY wash your hands with soap and warm water
  • Use hand sanitizer when warm water and soap are not readily available
  • Cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow or into a tissue, which you should throw away ASAP
  • If you get the flu, there are good prescription flu medicines available through your healthcare provider
  • If diagnosed with the flu, follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider
  • Self-isolate—don’t come into class or work for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone
  • If you are a resident student, remain at home until instructed to return by your healthcare provider

In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have published the following flu prevention tips: “Take 3” Actions to Fight the Flu and Cleaning to Prevent the Flu.
