DeSales Well – Our Community, Your Health

Fourth Annual Wellness Fair – Thursday, February 22, 2018

Wellness is an important responsibility for all of us. Research shows that five practical lifestyle habits can have a significant impact on our health: exercising regularly, maintaining a healthy weight, eating a healthful diet, getting preventive care, and not smoking.

DeSales cares about your health and wellness, and like you, is concerned with the cost of health care today. Our worksite wellness program plays an important role in helping us all get on the path to better health, as well as offers an opportunity to gain greater control over health care costs.

We hope you share our enthusiasm for our wellness initiatives and participate in the DeSales Fourth Annual Wellness Fair on Thursday, February 22, 2018, in the DeSales University Center. Events are scheduled from 9:00 – 4:00.

Please register at Please check each session you plan to attend including lunch. All responses are due by Thursday, February 15.

Fr. Jim, our president, encourages broad participation in this event; to that end, he directs all supervisors to allow their staff to attend as many activities as possible.

Be sure to stop by the fair and enter to win one of many great raffle prizes!

Today: Matt Fradd, Catholic author and speaker, presents “The Porn Myth”

Wednesday, February 7 at 3 p.m. in the Commonwealth Room, DUC
Character U Keynote      Free and open to the public
“It’s just harmless entertainment,” “She’s willing to do it,” “It’s not like I’m supporting the industry.” These and many other myths prevent many of us from seeing pornography for what it truly is: a diabolical counterfeit for love. In this entertaining presentation, Matt exposes what he believes are 7 of the most common myths about porn. Then, Matt untwists the lies, shines light on the darkness, and offers hope to those who are ready to reject the counterfeit and embrace the truth. He backs up his arguments with startling statistics, real-life stories, and the rock-solid wisdom of the Church’s teachings on human sexuality.

Matt Fradd experienced a profound conversion at World Youth Day in Rome in 2000 and afterward committed himself to inviting others to know Jesus and the Church Christ founded. Matt speaks to about 50,000 people every year, and has been a guest on the BBC, EWTN, ABC, and Catholic Answers Live. He is the founder of the Porn Effect, a site dedicated to exposing the reality behind the fantasy of porn and offering help to those who seek sexual freedom.
