Important Spring Break Information

Hello Students,

Spring Break is almost upon us! All residence halls will shut down for the break on Friday, March 2 at 6 p.m., and will reopen at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 11.

Please be advised that there are VERY LIMITED services available for Traditional Undergraduate Day students during this time. As such, residents are required to vacate their residence halls.

The only exceptions that may be made are for students required to stay by faculty/staff members for University sanctioned events and/or full time/day undergraduate academic responsibilities or for students who live more than 300 miles from campus. If you reside more than 300 miles away, you may request to stay on campus at the Office of Campus Life.

Students who must stay on campus over the break for a University sanctioned event must coordinate their request to stay through their staff/faculty advisor.

All requests must be submitted by 10 a.m. on Monday, February 26. Requests later than this date cannot be guaranteed approval.

If you have any questions about Spring Break closing, please talk with your Resident Advisor about the process.

The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) of 2008, revised in 2010, requires all postsecondary institutions to annually distribute a notice of availability of institutional and financial aid information and make certain that required information is available to prospective and current students, prospective and current parents, employees, and the general public.

The required information is readily accessible through the DeSales University Consumer Information website, and is updated on an annual basis. The information provided on the website is not a comprehensive list of all HEOA disclosures, but only those for which an annual notice must be issued.

To request a paper copy of this notice, please contact Lisa Plummer by phone at 610.282.1100, extension 1259, or by email at

Congratulations to this year’s Service Excellence Award Winners!

It is a long-standing tradition of our University to publicly acknowledge the staff who have contributed to our success. Each spring we hold the Service Excellence Dinner, where staff members who are celebrating milestone work anniversaries are recognized. It is also an opportunity for us to thank them for sharing their gifts with the DeSales community. And, as a welcome to the University, we invite new hires and their guests, too. This year’s dinner will be held on Monday, April 30.

One of the highlights of the evening is the presentation of two awards: Mark Siegfried, Telecommunications Team Lead, was selected as the Support Staff Employee of the Year, and Melissa Lenhart-Young, Associate Registrar, was selected as the Professional Staff Employee of the Year. I ask that you extend congratulations to Mark and Melissa for earning these distinctions and thank them for the valuable contributions they have made to the University over the years.
