RIP Ben Fortunado Marcune

It is with sadness and hope in the Resurrection that we pass along the death of Ben Fortunado Marcune, a nationally acclaimed sculptor and painter and close friend of DeSales University, who passed away on March 3.

Marcune’s sculptures feature prominently on the DeSales campus, including the bronze statues of Our Lady of Deliverance, St. Francis de Sales, St. Jane de Chantal, Blessed Fr. Louis Brisson and Mother Mary de Sales Chappuis, and most recently, Jesus the Teacher. His paintings for DeSales include portraits of St. Francis de Sales and St. Jane de Chantal, both of which are on display in the DeSales University Center.

Please keep Ben’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

Important: Problems Calling into Campus

Due to the recent storms and power outages across a widespread area, our telephone service provider, Frontier Communications, is still in repair mode for many areas. This means that if you are in an affected area, you may have trouble reaching any of the 610.282.xxxx numbers on campus. This would be for any provider that may be handling the call, for Frontier to receive. It is somewhat intermittent, and it may work from a landline and not your cell phone or vice versa.

We were informed that they are working on it and full restoration of service may take a couple of days.

Thank you for your patience. Any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
