Presidential and Provincial Medal Award Nominations

Your assistance is requested in selecting recipients for the President’s Medal and Provincial Medal Awards for 2018. The votes will be tallied and the President’s Cabinet will make the final selection.

For your reference, a list of seniors who are eligible for graduation is posted online. You may choose a male or female candidate for either award.

Please record your ballot online no later than Thursday, April 26.

The 2nd annual LVAIC Information Literacy Symposium will be held on May 23, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. This LVAIC-sponsored event will bring together our LVAIC community — faculty, librarians, and other educators invested in information and the structures of power therein.

Planned sessions from librarians and faculty in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities will focus on student perspectives, integrating discussions about information and knowledge into teaching, open educational resources, examining the role of large technology companies in information consumption and creation, and more.

Join us for presentations, workshops, and panel discussions to explore successes and challenges in information literacy teaching and learning and inspire intercampus dialog about our future information literacy teaching practices. [Read more…]

January Graduation

Dear Colleagues,

On March 15, 2018 the board of trustees approved the recommendation to discontinue the January graduation exercise.  January degree conferrals will continue to be granted in the regular cycle.  Diplomas will be mailed to the home addresses for graduates whose degrees are conferred in January. January graduates are invited and encouraged to participate in the May Commencement ceremony.
