Fiscal 2018 Year-End Tasks For All Offices

  • All cash and checks are to be brought to the Treasurer’s Office on Friday, June 29th by 11:30 AM.
  • Any uncashed checks to vendors being held for any reason should be brought to the Treasurer’s Office immediately for proper cancellation and/or possible reissue.
  • An item must be physically received or the service must have been performed on or before June 30th in order for the item to be considered an expenditure in 2018.
  • All invoices, check requisitions and travel requisitions related to the 2018 budget need to be in the Treasurer’s Office by July 13, 2018.
  • June credit card statements need to be submitted to our office by July 13, 2018. The credit card statements will be reviewed for accounting in the proper period.
  • Please email me with any significant expenditure related to the 2018 budget year for which you may not receive an invoice as of July 13, 2018. Include the following in the email: dollar amount of the expenditure, account number to be charged, purchase order or confirmation notice supporting the amount, proof of receipt or tracking documents, description of the expenditure, and transaction date.
  • Any noted invoices and expenditure requisitions that do not meet the guidelines above will automatically be counted against your 2019 budget.

DeSales Faculty in the News

Two members of our DeSales Family were in the news this week. Social sciences faculty member Michelle Bolger was quoted in The Morning Call regarding decreasing crime in Allentown and Bethlehem. And Kamran Afshar, director of the Kamran Afshar Data Analytics Center here at DeSales, was quoted in Lehigh Valley Business in an article about driverless trucks.


Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival Opens 2018 Season with Annual Luminosity Gala

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival opened its 2018 season on Saturday, June 2, 2018 with Luminosity, the Festival’s annual fundraising Gala, in the University Center on the campus of DeSales University. Guests shared an unforgettable evening with the award-winning stars of PSF—enjoying performances by Broadway, film, and television veterans, a chef-curated dinner, and distinctive auction prizes.

Performances from the PSF season included previews of scenes from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night by artists Victoria Janicki, who makes her PSF debut following her run as Joan in the National Tour of Fun Home, and Eric Hissom who was most recently seen in PSF’s Troilus and Cressida (2017) and The Taming of the Shrew (2016). Broadway veterans Brandi Burkhardt, Nkrumah Gatling, Michele Ragusa, and Destinee Rea performed songs from their own repertoires as well as from this season’s spectacular production of Ragtime, who, joined by the full cast, concluded the event with a resounding finale number.
