Welcome Fr. Dan Lannen, OSFS as University Chaplain

Fr. Dan Lannen, OSFS, is the new Chaplin working in Campus Ministry and is extremely excited about being apart of the DSU community. He is not a stranger to DSU, over the years he has enjoyed celebrating the weekend Sunday night Mass in Connelly Chapel and has experienced the generosity of students buying him dinner at Café McShea.

Fr. Dan has been a professed member with The Oblates of St. Francis De Sales since June 2007 and was ordained a priest in June 2011. His last position was Chaplain to Lumen Christi Catholic School in Jackson, MI. One the highlights of his priesthood was walking through the streets of Philadelphia with Lumen Christi students for the Papal Visit of Pope Francis in 2015. Fr. Dan is a huge Pope Fran fan!

Fr. Dan is from Holland, Michigan, and a graduate of Siena Heights University in Adrian, Michigan and earned his Master of Divinity degree St. Michaels Faculty of Theolgy at the University of Toronto. You will learn more about, Fr. Dan in his homilies often about his time as the eighth runner on a cross country varsity team of eight during high school, stories about his Italian Grandmother and the “injustices” of dealing with his younger brother, the mischievous Patrick.

Fr. Dan is looking forward to becoming immersed in the DSU community and sharing the spirit of St. Francis de Sales with everyone. Please stop by and say hello!
