Registration for 2019 Spring Courses!

In order to register for spring courses, students must consult with their academic advisor and obtain clearance to register between Monday, October 22nd and Friday, October 26th.

As preparation for this meeting, you should review your progress toward meeting course requirements and create a list of possible courses for the upcoming semester. To do this, use the Academic Evaluation feature in WebAdvisor (Academic Planning > Academic Evaluation) and/or the graduation requirement form for your major.

The 2019 spring schedule of classes will be available via WebAdvisor on Monday, October 15th.

You should also check your WebAdvisor account to learn when you may begin registering for your classes. After logging in, click on “Registration Status and Time.” For most students, this screen will indicate that they may register at some time between October 29thand November 5th. However, please note that some students may see a “hold,” which restricts them from registering. If you are one of these students, you must clear up the related matter before you may register.

If you have any questions, please contact your academic advisor.

Salesian Quote of the Day

“There is no danger if our prayer is without words or reflection because the good success of prayer depends neither on words nor on study. It depends upon the simple raising of our minds to God, and the more simple and stripped of feeling it is, the surer it is.” ~ St. Jane Francis de Chantal

Emerging Choreographers Concert Features Original Student Choreography

The Dance Department at DeSales University opens the 2018-2019 dance season with “Activate: The Emerging Choreographers Concert,” a premiere program of new dances in which some of the department’s most talented student choreographers showcase pieces using “activation” as inspiration for their physical action and choreographic research.

Take advantage of discounts for the DSU community. Tickets are only $9 for faculty and staff and $7 for students.

Under the artistic direction of dance faculty member Angela Sigley Grossman, the division of performing arts at DeSales University is pleased to celebrate the opening of the Dance Department’s 36th season with this annual concert showcasing our emerging student choreographers. From the choreography to the performers, designers and student managers, the concert is a mostly student-run affair. The Emerging Choreographers Concert is slated for four performances in the intimate Schubert Theatre in the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts on the DeSales campus from November 2 to 4, 2018.

This year’s choreographers are Ciara Marie Alford ’19, William Brazdzionis ’19, Caeleigh Griffiths ’19, Maria Murray ’20, and Krysten Struk ’19.

Performances are Friday, November 2 at 8 p.m., Saturday, November 3 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 4 at 2:00 p.m. and take place in the Schubert Theatre in the Labuda Center for the Performing Arts.

Artistic Director Angela Sigley Grossman will host a talk back conversation with the choreographers and the assembled audience following the Saturday, November 3rd 2:00 p.m. performance. The talk back is free of charge and open to all.

To purchase tickets, stop by the Labuda Center box office or call ext. 1276.
