Flee the Flu: A Message from the Emergency Services Department

As the flu season returns, here are some tips:

  • The best way to prevent or lessen the severity of the flu is to get a flu shot
  • FREQUENTLY wash your hands with soap and warm water
  • Use hand sanitizer when warm water and soap are not readily available
  • Cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow or into a tissue, which you should throw away ASAP
  • If you get the flu, there are good prescription flu medicines available through your doctor
  • Self-isolate—don’t come into class or work for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone
  • Here’s the bottom line: vaccination—good hygiene—social distancing
