Dorothy Day was born on 8 November 1897 in Brooklyn, American. The founder of ‘The Catholic Worker’, Dorothy Day was an activist who worked for social causes like women’s suffrage and pacifism. She started off as a journalist, writing for several progressive publications and then participated in several political protests where she advocated a number of societal causes. A devoted Catholic, she spawned the ‘Catholic Worker Movement’ and also helped establish homes for those in need.

Salesian Retreat of Art and Prayer

On Saturday December 8, 2018, join visiting artist Bro. Mickey McGrath, OSFS, for this free Salesian retreat. This hands-on workshop teaches even non-artists how to create simple mandalas for prayer and meditation …with crayons and markers!

Sponsored by the Salesian Center for Faith & Culture the day will begin with Mass at 9:30AM, the retreat starts at 10AM. All in the Gambet Center Auditorium.

Lunch will be provided. Space is limited and registration is required.

Donations Needed! Holy Infancy Donation Drive

Cops N Kids of DeSales University will be collecting donations for the children of Holy Infancy Elementary School. It is important for them to understand the feeling of giving a gift rather than just receiving. Each child gets to pick an item to give as a gift to an important person in their life while receiving books and winter necessities for themselves. The items include—but are not limited to—accessories, mugs, ornaments, candles, home décor, picture frames, and so forth. All information is available through Engage.

DUC Lot Closing Tomorrow

DeSales is hosting a large event in the DUC on the morning of November 28, 2018. The parking lot will be closed at 7 a.m. and will remain so until 1 p.m. The lot will remain congested until 5 p.m. Overflow parking will be sent to the front lot of Billera Hall as needed.

More than 150 attendees are registered.
