Tomorrow: New Leadership Speaker Series “Connecting The Dots”

The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership is happy to announce a new leadership speaker series called, CONNECTING THE DOTS!

Each month a different faculty or staff member from DeSales will be discussing how they ended up in Center Valley and offering advice for you, the students of DSU! This leadership speaker series will be both interactive and fun. The faculty member has selected the topic, food/drink, and giveaway! Character U Point for members of the Class of 2022.

Please join us this Thursday night, November 29 at 6:00PM in the Dorothy Day Student Union for our first leadership speaker, Kristin Eicholtz, Executive Director of Career Development! The summary of her talk is below.

The Best Views Come After the Hardest Climbs

Riding a flat road feels good, has minimal challenges, and is pretty painless; however, life is far from a flat road. Life is a journey of rolling hills, long steady climbs, and super fast downhills. Join Kristin Eicholtz, Executive Director of Career Development, as she shares the twists and turns of her personal and professional journey… proving that some of the best views come after the hardest climbs.

This event is open to everyone at DeSales and is subject to change! We hope to see you there as we start to connect the dots for your future!

Dr. Ahmet Yayla in Der Spiegel and on French ARTE TV Station

Dr. Ahmet Yayla was recently quoted in the German publication Der Spiegel about Turkey’s influence in Syria:

“The entire administration of these [Syrian] cities is led by Turkey, it is a kind of mandate,” says Ahmet Yayla of the US University DeSales AFP. Although these areas are not officially part of Turkey, they are “de facto” subordinate to the government in Ankara. Since the capture of the northern Syrian region in the “Euphrates Shield” military mission, Turkey has continued to be rooted in the area.
