Act 1 Closes 18-19 Season with “Pippin”

Act 1 presents the final production of its 2018-2019 Main Stage season with the Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson musical, Pippin, directed by Dennis Razze. The production opens April 24 and runs to May 5 on the Main Stage of the Labuda Center.

Winner of four 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival, Pippin tells the poignant story of a young man’s journey to be extraordinary. Guided by a magical Leading Player, young prince Pippin searches for true happiness in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh, and the intrigues of political power. In the end, he finds happiness lies in the un-extraordinary moments of everyday life. With an infectious, unforgettable score by the award-winning Broadway musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked and Godspell), and featuring the great Broadway anthem “Corner of the Sky,” Pippin is a captivating musical appealing to the young at heart and appropriate for ages 13+.

The production runs April 24 to May 5 on the Main Stage of the Labuda Center. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM. A talk back with the director and cast is scheduled for Sunday, April 28 after the 2:00 PM performance. There is a morning matinee on Monday, April 39 at 9:45 AM, followed by a talk back with the director and cast. There is an additional matinee at 2:00 PM on Saturday,
May 4.

Ticket prices are $19 for DSU faculty/Staff and $14 for DSU students.
