New WILEY Online Full-Text Journal Access at Trexler Library

Due to the excellent negotiation skills of a new consortia to which Trexler Library now belongs, Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium (PALCI), we now have full-text access to the over 1,000 titles in WILEY ONLINE LIBRARY: Journals.  Our subscription includes backfiles dating back to 1997. The collection is strong in the sciences and social sciences, but it also includes a number of humanities titles.

You will find the new collection in our A to Z list of databases below our search box on our home page at http://www.desales.edu/library  Look for WILEY Online Library: Journals

We have also added the journal titles to our Discovery search box. They will appear in your regular searching of our resources.

Support the D.R.E.A.M.S. / Fe Programs

To assist with the on-campus living of our high school visitors this June, the Salesian Center for Faith & Culture will be collecting the following new, unopened items for our DREAMS / Fe programs.

  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrushes
  • Sunscreen
  • Chap stick
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Soap
  • Contact solution
  • Bath towels
  • Socks
  • Wash cloths

Each June, DeSales University sponsors the DREAMS (DeSales Reinforcing Education among Multicultural Students) and the Fe (Future Entrepreneurs) programs on campus. These programs offer educational enrichment to high school students who apply for the DREAMS program or are chosen by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce for the Fe experience.

Students learn the importance and obtainability of a college education. With a combination of classroom learning and community events, the students receive knowledge and hands-on experiences, all while living in our residence halls.

Items need to be dropped off on or before May 22 to the auxiliary services office inside the DUC or send them interoffice to Lore in the Salesian Center.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Coming in August: LVAIC Exploring Campus Economics Event—What’s My Role?

To commemorate 50 years of collaboration, the LVAIC is launching a year-long learning series for our campuses.  As a community, we will explore key topics relating to the shifting landscape of higher education.  This program combines speaker events, study groups, and workshops to promote understanding of the impact of this changing environment.  Navigating these opportunities together will prepare us for active participation in meeting these challenges on our campuses.

The fourth event in this series will be held at DeSales University on Thursday, August 15, and will be focusing on Exploring Campus Economics: What’s My Role? Integrating priorities, people and financial impacts in institutional decision making.

The speaker for this event will be Jacalyn A Askin, PhD, Senior Fellow, Finance and Campus Management, National Association of College and University Business Officers. Her full biography is available on the event series website.
