Dining services is going green on 3/16!

Join us at the DUC this Wednesday, March 16 in our efforts to go green. Dining Services will be promoting ways to go green and live a healthier life style. The Dietitian will be in the DUC during lunch to promote a green diet. Try sautéed Brussels sprouts and a delicious blend of other green vegetables that support a healthy and nutritious diet.

Help support DSU dining services to become a more environmentally friendly campus by using the NEW eco-containers for your salads or to-go meals. Just remember to bring them back so they can be rewashed and reused – this will significantly cut back on the amount of Styrofoam we use.

Come by and check out our new recycling banner above the dish room to help remind us that it is always important to recycle whenever possible and be conscious about what we are disposing of. We need your support to make DSU more environmentally friendly. And remember, green rocks!

The ARC expands learning support to evening hours

The Academic Resource Center will be expanding services. Chris Neuman, our part-time learning support specialist, will be available Monday – Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to help traditional day students with time management, learning skills, and academic coursework. To take advantage of these services, you may either sign up for an appointment in the ARC or drop in to see him in Dooling Hall, room 19A.

Cell/wireless coverage survey: you could win a $50 gift card!

All DeSales University faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in this brief survey regarding cellular phone coverage on campus. Resident students will also have the opportunity to offer feedback about wireless internet access in the residence halls.

The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete and your responses will provide helpful feedback to prioritize enhancements in these areas. Each participant will be eligible for a random drawing for two $50 Target gift cards (1 for students and 1 for faculty/staff).

Deadline for entry into the drawing and survey completion has changed to Thursday, March 17.

Your participation is completely voluntary, but the feedback is necessary to help improve these services. Your information will be coded and will remain confidential. If you have questions at any time about the survey, please contact Mark.Siegfried@desales.edu.

Housing selection deposits due by 3/18

Housing selection is just around the corner. If you wish to live on campus during the 2011-2012 academic year, make sure that your $300 housing deposit has been submitted to the Treasurer’s Office no later than Friday, March 18.

If you have a credit on your student account, this can only be applied as a housing deposit by contacting the Treasurer’s Office. If you are not deposited by 3/18, you will be defaulted to late housing selection and we cannot guarantee campus housing.

You can check WebAdvisor to see if and/or when you submitted a housing deposit. Please go to “My Room Assignment” under the “Student Life” section. We will post lottery numbers on WebAdvisor after deposits are reviewed.

Note: if you are returning as a fifth-year senior, campus housing may be a possibility if there is available space. You must be a full-time, undergraduate who is not applying for graduation May 2011.
