3 Free Personal Training Sessions with Sport & Exercise Science Students

The Sport & Exercise Science students enrolled in ‘Fitness Leadership’ will be offering three days of personal training to faculty, staff, and students.  Because this is part of a class activity, the only time the training is offered will be 11:15 a.m. till 12:00 noon on Tuesday and Thursday March 21, 26, and 28 in Billera.

There are 12 spots available on each day, and we recommend you sign up for as many days as possible to get maximum benefits.  Reserve your spot ASAP.

The trainers will tailor the exercise plan to meet your needs and goals. Personal trainers can motivate and push you to work harder or they can help you learn how to use the equipment in the gym on your own.

For Safety Reasons: all participants must be healthy enough for unrestricted exercise (we have a simple questionnaire to determine your eligibility).

To reserve your spot, or get more information contact Rebecca.kudrna@desales.edu

Faculty, Staff, and Administration Poetry Reading

Faculty, Staff, and Administration Poetry Reading

Do you have a favorite poem? One that’s run in the bloodstream since you first read it, no matter how long ago? Why hold onto it for yourself, tending it as a private flame?

The English Department would like to issue an open invitation to DeSales faculty, staff, and administrators to join us as guest readers April 23 for a poetry reading in which each participant will read his or her favorite poem. The event is modeled on the nationwide Favorite Poem Project instituted by another former Laureate, Robert Pinsky, in which Americans from all walks of life were filmed reading their favorite poem, a national treasure which now resides in the Library of Congress.

We first hosted a reading like this several years ago and it proved very successful. That night we had readers representing faculty, staff, and administration; faculty representation was from across the disciplines. This is the kind of representation we’d like again this year.

The event will take place from 7:00 to approximately 8:30 p.m., Trexler Room, DUC. If you’re interested in participating —and we very much hope you are—please contact Dr. Steve Myers atstephen.myers@desales.edu or call x1387.
