Tomorrow: Selma at Emmaus Theater

This Thursday, January 18 there will be a 7:30 p.m. showing of Selma at the Emmaus Theater. Optional transportation is provided. The bus will leave McShea parking lot at 6:45 p.m. Both admission and transportation are no cost.

Students: 2016-2017 Parking Permits Expired

If you currently have a 2016-2017 student parking permit, it expired on December 31, 2017. Please complete the registration for a 2017-2018 permit to avoid getting a citation for “No Valid DSU Permit.” You will need your 7 digit ID number (on the back of your student ID in the lower right corner) and car information. The process just takes a few minutes.

Faculty/Staff permits do not expire. Only student permits need to be renewed.

PACE Accepting Applications for 2018-2019 Academic Year

Be part of a great leadership position on campus! PACE (Peers Advising Counseling Educating) is currently accepting applications for the 2018-2019 academic year. Be a part of this special group that supports DSU students through peer counseling, and provides wellness programming across campus.

Applications are now available in the Wellness Center (located in the McShea Student Center) and are due by Friday, February 9, 2018.

How Private is Your Data? Data Privacy Day Lunch and Learn, 1/24

Data Privacy Day, on January 28, marks the 1981 signing of Convention 108, the first legally binding international treaty concerning privacy and data protection. First championed in Europe and later in North America in 2008, Data Privacy Day highlights what businesses and private citizens can do to protect consumers’ private information.

This year’s theme for Data Privacy Day is “Respecting Privacy, Safeguarding Data and Enabling Trust.”

2017 marked an increased incidence of data breaches at places like Equifax, Verizon, the NSA, and Uber where nearly the entire population was affected in some way by at least one data breach. Here at DeSales we believe it is necessary for people to learn how to better secure their personal information not only to protect their own identity, but to also help protect other people’s identities.
