Character U Keynote, 9/26

Join us for our second Character U Keynote, 9/11 firefighter Jay Jonas on September 26 at 3:00pm in the Commonwealth Room in the DUC.  This event is open to all the campus community.

Only 20 people who were still inside the Twin Towers when they collapsed made it out alive, including Chief John A. (Jay) Jonas, now a Deputy Chief in the New York City Fire Department. On September 11, 2001, Jay Jonas was the Captain of Ladder Co. 6 and was one of the first responding units to the World Trade Center.  Jonas and his unit were rescuing a woman from the north tower of the World Trade Center when it collapsed on them.  They survived the collapse and their entrapment, and lived to tell the extraordinary tale of heartbreak and bravery.
