Four Spots Available for Paris Trip

Four spots have opened up for the trip to Paris this coming May.  The spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Sign up now!

Dates: May 19-26

Price: $2079 (Based on 30 travelers.  We now have 27. Fewer than 30 drives the price up $60.)

Price covers: airfare, 3-star hotel, English-speaking guide, ground transportation and entrance fees in France, daily hot breakfast.

Itinerary includes: Notre Dame, Louvre, and other major Parisian sites as well as day trips to Nevers and Chartres

A $200 non-refundable deposit will secure your place.  If you are a day student, you will be billed by DeSales University when you sign up.  If you are not a day student, you will need to submit your check  (payable to DeSales University) to Maryanne Charlton in Career Services to secure your spot.  The remainder of the package price will be collected during the spring semester.

Please join the Human Resources Department for a Holiday Open House on Tuesday, December 3 from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.  Stop by to chat with your HR Representatives, and to meet some new staff members.  We look forward to taking some time out of our busy days to chat with you and hear about the wonderful things that are happening in your respective departments.  Refreshments will be served and we will have some Holiday wellness tips and recipes available to help keep you on a healthy track as you navigate your way through dinners, parties and late-night shopping!  We will also be raffling off two $25 3-D gift certificates, compliments of The University Card Office!  As a reminder, all employees receive a 25% discount on most menu items offered by Dining Services.

Students Who Wish to Stay on Campus During Thanksgiving Break

This is a reminder that the Thanksgiving holiday break is soon approaching. On Wednesday, November 27, the campus will shut down at 6PM for the break and will not reopen until 2PM on Sunday, December 1.

Please be advised that there are VERY LIMITED services available for students during this time. As such, residents are required to vacate their residence halls.

The only exceptions that  may be made for those students required to stay by faculty/staff members that must be here for University sanctioned events and/or  full time/day undergraduate academic responsibilities or for students who live more than 300 miles from campus.

If you reside more than 300 miles away, you may request to stay on campus at the office of housing operations or by emailing kathryn.kresge@desales.edu. Students who must stay on campus over the break for University sanctioned event must coordinate their request to stay through their staff/faculty advisor.

All requests must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Monday, November 25. Requests posted later than this date cannot be guaranteed approval.

Mastering the Weights – For Faculty

Together lets minimize the intimidation factor that arises when in a gym setting. On Friday, November 20 at noon in the Billera Fitness Center will be an hour session showing you how to properly utilize the weight lifting machines. This is an informational session breaking down the settings and movements used when using the weight lifting machines. Come with questions and dressed ready to strive to become the boss in the gym!
