DSU Geocaching Club goes international!

The DSU Geocaching Club has successfully started promoting the University internationally for free through the sport of Geocaching! If you have never heard of geocaching, it is best described as an international GPS enabled scavenger hunt. Participants use latitude and longitude coordinates to locate hidden caches (containers) all around the world. Ones found, participants sign the log sheet inside the cache and log their visit online. Participants can drop trade items, called trackables in any geocache, with specific traveling goals. Other participants then move the trackable to its destination voluntarily, geocache by geocache, to earn points on their accounts. The DSU Geocaching Club was able to drop one trackable in Rome this past semester with the help of study abroad students Roman Howell and Troy Bauer. The trackable, with the goal to visit every country in Europe, has moved three times since then and is currently promoting DeSales University in Portugal.

Join us for “Tuesdays with Francis”

Tuesday, February 5 at 8:00 p.m. in the Alacoque House

The Salesian Center for Faith & Culture sponsors this informal meeting where a group of students read aloud and discuss a few of St. Francis de Sales’ letters — and the “inspired common sense” in them that still has great meaning and impact today. The text of the letters is provided for participants each week.
